First ACM Meeting of the Spring 2009 Semester
We’re starting with a bang, meeting this Thursday, the first week of the semester. It’s kind of abrupt, but hopefully you’re paying attention and got the message. It should be fun. And now a word from our president.
The first ACM meeting will be on Thursday, January 15th at 5:30pm in
SEO 1000. Dr. Tanya Berger-Wolf will talk about biological
computing. That is, the use of computer science to describe
biological systems. This is a rather unusual point of view on
computer science, but, I believe, a revolutionary one. It’s something
that shows the depth and breadth of application that computer science
has. I thought this would be a little bit of an inspirational way to
start off the semester.
We’ll also use part of the time to discuss what we’ll be doing this
semester, so I strongly urge the officers and anyone who wants to be
active in the club to attend.
As usual, free pizza will be served along with fine caffeinated
beverages
I hope to see everyone there!
Gary Turovsky
ACM President
Remember, this Thursday. Be there.
