We are changing some things including: - Using cmake to build our game, which means... - You can use any IDE you please and... - You can use your favorite operating system - No more intro meetings (actual lessons planned each week) - Video recordings of meetings, so if you miss one, you can just watch the recording - Tutorials are now optional. Regular perks: - Learn C++ before (or during) cs340, so you are prepared. - Just learning C++. It's useful! - We review your code. We can point out standards and mistakes that you might miss. - Weekly lessons/discussions to bolster your knowledge. - Learn how to work on a team. We have a support group of other members. - We develop games, which are fun to program. If you are interested, please show up to our first meeting. Message-ID: <54b0e477bfa129c2484d44fde56f0118.squirrel@webmail.uic.edu> The Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will be presenting on their plans for this semester. If you have any interest in getting involved, come to this meeting. No experience required. Ask SIG-Build about their Monitor Wall. Check in with the leader of SIG-Game. Find out how you can help guide SIG-Code. If you've got an idea of something cool you'd like to do, and want others to get in on, bring them! We're always looking for neat ideas and adventurous engineers. The meeting will tentatively occur at 5:30 pm in SEO 1000 on Thursday, February 3rd. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone who knows better. ~Sean Deitz
