This week the Linux User's Group will be holding Linux Newbie Week. There
will be 3 separate presentations, geared towards how to get started with
Linux and a basic introduction. Why learn Linux you ask? Linux is a free
alternative operating system to Windows or OS X, widely used in today's
technology fields. Android phones are a derivation of Linux. Linux is also
most commonly used for professional servers. So come on and dive in to
learning Linux, there isn't a class here at UIC for learning this.

Tuesday Oct. 4th Linux at UIC - Walter Dworak
Wednesday Oct. 5th Shell - Hef
Thursay Oct. 6th Linux Development - Joseph Rodriguez

These will take place in SEL E 2254, which used to be the Linux Lab (Now the
Mac Lab)

Also, if you are interested in learning more, join LUG. We currently have a
Minecraft Modding group, focused on using Linux to develop software.
Meetings are Mondays at 4pm in SEO 1000.

I enjoy the massacre of ads. This sentence will slaughter ads without a
messy bloodbath.
