Tom and Walter,

Sorry for the delay in looping back. I would like to try to work with you
on your event series as well we are focusing on Scirra Construct 2 and
GameSalad Game Creator, so no XNA skills are required.

If you could possible help us promote the events below via your membership
and the list serve? If you could that would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Martin

We are running two duplicate Windows 8 game building workshops and students
can come to either (or both) days. They have the same format, but one is
Thursday <http://www.eventbrite.com/event/4669692175> to support students
with a Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule. The other is Friday
<http://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=4669854661> to support students with
Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Here are the details:

Build a Windows 8 Game in a day (quick, fun and easy)

Thursday game day (8:00 - 3:30, if 8 AM is too early just pop in later)

Friday game day (9:00 - 5:00, if 9:00 is too early just pop in later)

Have you ever wanted to build your own game? What if you could build a cool
game in a single day? The team from Microsoft is partnering with UIC CS to
put on a Windows 8 gaming workshop, so you can build your game (in a single
day). On October 25th join Adam Hoffman & Martin Schray of Microsoft to use
the GameSalad game creator tool to create a game for Windows 8.

Microsoft is providing food & beverages, prizes as well as the ability to
publish your app to the Windows 8 store for free.

What will you need? If you have Windows 8 that would be great, but if you
don't that's okay Windows 7 will work fine. If you want to get Windows 8
check this out https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=BF4F4853C980E97A!328.

What will you get out of it?

* You'll learn to build your very own Windows 8 game using the
GameSalad Creator

* You'll be able to publish your game to the Windows Store (for
free)

* You'll get some food and an opportunity to win prizes

* You'll bolster you resume as game creators, build your personal
brand and you can earn money (or fame) if you game does well in the
marketplace
