I hope all of you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday! As all your classes start winding down and final studying begins, you might need a little break from that hectic study schedule. We're here to help. Come join us this *December 2, 2013 @ 5:30PM* in the CS Tunnel behind the ACM/LUG Office, SELE 2268B for SIG FUN Anime Night! We will be watching *Wolf Children*. It is a wonderfully sentimental and heartfelt story! ?????(>?<)????? [Watch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SlB-SpDMKI] *Description: *From the creative director who brought you Summer Wars ? Mamoru Hosoda: Hana was a student before she was a mother. She was bright and pretty, and her future held endless possibilities. Hana loved her husband fiercely, but fate took him from her, leaving her alone with two unusual kids she didn?t know how to raise. Frightened of being discovered, Hana and her wolf children fled to the countryside to build a new life. Raising her little wild things was an adventure. It left Hana bruised, scratched, exhausted, and joyously overwhelmed as her pups grew stronger and wandered further every day. This is a mother?s journey. Teach your children to chase their dreams ? and smile through the tears as they disappear into the world in search of who they will become. Hope to see you there for our *last meeting* of the semester! See you next year, Chase Lee SIG FUN Anime Nights -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We will be going over the first steps of using the Active Directory backend on your test machines and discussing future plans. If you haven't been to a meeting in a while, have a test machine assigned, and still wish to continue, please email me or it may get reassigned to someone new. Good luck with the end of the semester and year. Walter -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: Hey guys, So we didn't finish the project this semester (Minesweeper Playing AI in Haskell), so I'm polling for interest in having a Hackathon over winter break to get it done. If you want to do it, reply all to this message stating your interest and when you'd be available. I'm extremely convinced we're capable of getting this done in one day if we do it right. Tom has promised us 5 pizzas if we have an event, so there will be food. Even if you haven't participated this far, feel free to express interest, the more people the faster we can hack it together. Anyways, we have arranged for the ACM office to be waxed and polished. In order to do so, we will need to clear the office. We have scheduled the waxing for January 8, 2014. If we could get the ACM emptied out by the weekend of the January 4th, that would be ideal. We will be moving everything from the office into the CS Lounge, NOT THE TUNNEL. We will need a group of probably 10-15 people, seeing as the ACM has a lot of desks and various things. People who are interested please reply back saying when you would be able to help out. In addition, we are considering organizing the IT Lab and getting the wall working again so we can use it for other SIGs. So if any of the other SIG leaders would like a little piece of the IT Lab or have any ideas, let us know if you are interested. Hope everyone has a good break! Thanks,? Set-up starts at Noon So, with this return to school why don't we get one last hurrah and sneak a LAN Party in? Same things as per usual. No entry fee, but you will need to take care of food yourself. This will be a few days after the ACM waxing, so keep it clean, keep it respectful. As always, feel free to ask questions. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: I would just like to send a thank you to everyone who came to the SIG-Code Hackathon. We made great progress, and it looks like people are going to continue working on the pieces that still aren't quite finished. We may have one more event at the start of the school year depending on what people get done between now and then. If you'd like to work on your own between now and then, you can send an email asking what you can do, or you can try and find me on the irc channel #sigcode Cheers, Ian -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
