The exact agenda for the meeting is still being worked out but it will go roughly as follows: - the *buses leave UIC around 5:15 pm* - arrive at kCura and they'll show us around their offices - around 6:00 there will be some form of presentation by some combination of the CEO, a department head, and software developers on staff (this will likely be in the form of a panel disscussion) depending on who is available - and finally there will be free pizza and chances to talk one on one with members of their staff after the presentations. Bringing a resume is probably a good idea. The bus back to UIC would be leaving sometime around 7:30 or 7:45. Because kCura is providing us with transport we need to give them a head count of who is coming so they can sort out the buses. Therefore I need anyone who wants to come to fill out *this form *. If you are not signed up you are not coming. There will be emails later about some more specifics like where to meet for the buses, and a better idea of the agenda for the evening but that is all for now. Message-ID: Hi SIG-Coders! So, we're having a big ACM meeting next Thursday, which will be heavily SIG focused. I intend to have the minesweeper player finished by then. If you want to work on it, I'll be in ACM every day from at the bare minimum 9-5 (excluding class) every day up until then. Just talk to me and I'll give you something to work on. We'll also be announcing at that meeting the details of the new project for this semester. It's been great working on this project with you all, and I'm proud of the way each and every one of you who continued to work on it has grown as a coder. Note though, the project must be presentable by next Thursday, so come Monday or Tuesday, I'll start finishing functions myself. Look forward to seeing you all at next weeks ACM meeting! The first meeting for this semester's SIG Game is today, starting at 5 in the CS Lounge area (SEL 2260). We will be going over some introductory stuff for newcomers, as well as play a unique indie game that uses some cool mechanics that we can talk about (this week it's Nidhogg!) I plan on doing this every week so we can have some fun/learn while making games (I pretty much stole this idea from CS 426) I'll also be talking about 2D development in Unity since people seem to be interested in that, as well as the projects to come in the future.
