The deadline to apply has been extended to *Monday, June 22.*

Check out this information on the Google Student Ambassador Program. As a
GSA you work with the GSA team and a specialist in charge of student
outreach for UIC. I am a former GSA so please let me know if you have any
questions. *Also please let me know if you apply. Email:
ejanerose at gmail.com <ejanerose at gmail.com>*. Hopefully we can work together
with the tech student organizations to do cool things! :)

If you aren't interested but know someone who may be, please pass this
opportunity on.

Note: New in 2015-2016, we will no longer be accepting current or past
Google interns (tech or non-tech) into the GSA program.

The Google Student Ambassador (GSA) program is an opportunity for students
to act as liaisons between Google and their universities. Ambassadors:

   - Learn about innovative Google products, services and programs
   - Plan and host fun events and trainings on campus to expose fellow
students and university contacts to Google tools, products and programs
   - Act as a campus contact for many Google teams (e.g. Campus Recruiting,
   Marketing)
   - Educate their peers about Google programs and opportunities
   - Help Google better understand each university's culture by serving as
our eyes and ears on the ground

The GSA team bases selections off students who demonstrate the following
qualities:

   - Passion about Google & our products (obvs)
   - Outgoing and involved in extracurriculars (of course you are)
   - Independent and self-motivated
   - Strong academic performance
   - Willing to dedicate a year to the program
   - Any major!
