*Hello World!*

Is what most people start with when they start coding.

Come to SIG Open to *try something new*! Work on *open source software
development*, not just programming by yourself the night before your
project is due. 😲 Collaborate with a team to *design, develop, and deploy*
something you're proud of. It's open source so anyone can see it. *Everyone
is welcome* whether you're just starting out or have a few languages under
your belt. 🐁 SIG Open is about you building projects with each other. I'm
just around to answer your questions and share some knowledge about how you
go about this *open source software development* stuff!

*When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4pm-5pm*
*Where: Mac Lab SELE 2254*
*SIG Open web page: acm.cs.uic.edu/sigopen <http://acm.cs.uic.edu/sigopen>*

There are currently three projects in progress:

   - Modern virtual reality snake game
   - A web tool for ACM registration
   - A web tool for time sheets using the MEAN Stack

All these groups are working through new things that they have not studied
before, so don't feel out of place if you don't know something. *It's a
learning experience*.
If you want to start a new project, you are also more than welcome to join
the SIG and I can help guide you along the way. 😊

*Tomorrow*, we will focus on how to develop your project from start to
finish, how to structure the project and how to make your own design and
deadlines. I will be giving examples of some of the projects that I have
been working on and how I was able to design and structure my projects.

See you there!

Tim
