Message-ID: Hello everyone, Due to the number of complaints I have received regarding the ACM office, I would like to remind everyone of the office policies. Specifically, I'd like to highlight these policies: - Pick up after yourself. - Do not leave personal items in the office (ACM is not responsible for the loss or theft of valuables) - Try not to disturb others (excessive noise, etc.) - You may not 'hog' a seat. You must give up your seat to another person that wants to do any of the following: study, work, SIG related educational activities, educating oneself, developing. - If you borrow a resource from the ACM, it must be returned to the ACM! For a full list of policies, please see here . Further, violations to these policies will result in a loss of space privileges. Please be respectful to the ACM office, other organization spaces, and the CS lounge. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email the officers at officers at acm.cs.uic.edu. Message-ID: Hello everyone, Develop is a new hackathon held at UIC by the Linux Users Group (LUG). It was going to be held at Flourish! this semester but since Flourish! has been postponed until next Spring, it is going to run separately. Develop's code challenge is geared towards AI and strategy. In order to have the hackathon this semester, we need volunteers! So far, much of the front end, game mechanics, and a little backend is done, but much more work is still needed. Those who can help with design and backend are welcomed to assist! If you volunteer, you will not be able to participate at the hackathon, but helping with the development will look great on your resume. If you have any questions about volunteering or want more information about how to get involved, please email Tim Choh at tchoh2 at uic.edu. I encourage you to try logging in and testing out your newfound powers. ;-) If for some reason you can't get access, please send me an email or message me on Slack so that can look into the matter.
