[Acm-announce] ACM First General Meeting

Hey everyone, I just wanted to start out by saying welcome or welcome back
to UIC this Fall! I hope your first few days of classes went well. On
behalf of the officers of ACM, I would like to say that this year should be
exciting for ACM, so expect a lot of stuff coming up!

But more importantly, I would like to announce our first general meeting.
It is going to be this Thursday in SEO 1000 at 5:30 pm. We are going to be
getting pizza and we are hoping to have things concluded by 7pm. Also, SEO
1000 just went over a recent makeover so there are new chairs and a new
table, new floor too if I recall, as well as this huge TV in the room. I am
expecting it to be a pretty large turnout, with ACM members, prospective
members, and students from Engineering 100, you'll probably want to be
there on time in order to get a seat.

We are going to be discussing recent changes in certain ACM policies,
membership benefits, a quick introduction to SIGs (more in-depth SIG stuff
will be in week 3, SIG leaders will be hearing from us soon), as well
as committees and other positions, among other really important things.
There is quite a bit of information we are going to be tossing out this
week, anything that doesn't get talked about will be added to our General
Meeting in Week 3, but we are going to try and get everything said by 7pm.

Other than that we will see you tomorrow night! Good luck this semester to
