It's almost that time of year everyone! Please take the time to read this
email, it contains extremely important information.

Elections are going to be held Thursday, April 18th, 5:30pm in SEO 1000.

What you need to know:
- We will be electing a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary.
- If you want to run, start thinking of WHY you deserve the position you
run for and how you being elected will help ACM.
- This one is more a personal preference, but try to avoid "well I hang
around a lot... I figured I should do something." It sounds bad. We want to
hear what you have done for ACM and how you have been involved. It doesn't
need to be MUCH, but PLEASE have something.
- MEMBERS CAN ONLY VOTE!!! If you have not paid your membership dues, you
can still pay up until we begin elections and a few minutes will be set
aside in order to do that. The fee will still be $10, no exceptions.
- I wouldn't expect food at this meeting. We want people to show up and be
serious about the future of ACM, not come and get a free meal and walk away
not caring about anything else.

Additionally, I would like to add one more process to our usual elections.
For those of you interested in running, or maybe not want to run for a
higher position because you aren't ready for those responsibilities yet, we
will be forming committees for next year. Ideally someone will speak up
about which committee they would like to be involved in and whether or not
they want to be committee head. This is a good opportunity for those of you
who run for an officer position but don't end up getting it, you can
immediately jump into something that will help ACM greatly.

Lastly, I think SIGs might be covered. Getting new leadership ready and
organizing members for that to start planning things over summer for the
next year. Fall is always an extremely important semester due to all the
incoming new students, and MANY CS students are extremely interested in
joining an organization where they can hang out, and ACM needs to be that
place.

Any questions just ask, I'll
