Due to some difficulties last week the advanced Linux installation
session was moved to tomorrows meeting. The information from that last
email is included below and should be unchanged. Last weeks meeting
consisted of project discussion and some task hand outs related to the
monitor wall project, the ACM Kanboard, and the other projects the SIG
has listed on our wiki page.

If you want to find out more about what went on last week, please either
come to tomorrows meeting or join the sigsysadmin mailing list and start
a discussion there.

Tomorrow's meeting will be at the normal time, 5:30PM, in the ACM
Office.

I hope everyone enjoyed Linux Newbie Week hosted by LUG last week. The
SIG Sysadmin meeting will be happening as per the normal schedule
tomorrow at 5:30PM in the ACM office. We will be doing a guided
installation of Arch Linux as an extension/addition to some of the
topics last week. The plan is to do these installations inside of a
virtual machine on either your laptop, so bring a laptop with some VM
software you can use installed on it if you can, or on the ACM
workstations, first come first serve. Hopefully this session will give
you a better idea of what is going on under the hood when installing and
running an OS on a machine.

If you need help finding software to host a VM here are a few
suggestions.

VMWare Player [1]

QEMU [2]+KVM [3] (Look up how to install the package for your Linux
distribution)
