Some special Valentine's Day-themed events are also approaching!:
For the most up-to-date event listing, please refer to our Calendar.
Can you believe that we are ALREADY a quarter way done with the semester already?!?
Here are the scheduled events for the week:
On February 20th there will be an ACM meeting at the offices of kCura in downtown Chicago. The exact agenda for the meeting is still being worked out but it will go roughly as follows:
Because kCura is providing us with transport we need to give them a head count of who is coming so they can sort out the buses. Therefore I need anyone who wants to come to fill out this form by 12:00pm Friday January 31. If you are not signed up you are likely not going to be able to come.
There will be emails later about some more specifics like where to meet for the buses, and a better idea of the agenda for the evening but that is all for now. If you have any other questions feel free to ask you can email me at email@example.comAnthony Phelps
It's SUPER cold outside, but don't let that get you down--It's the week three! Here are the events scheduled for the week:
This is also a reminder that the kCura Meeting Sign-Up deadline is on January 31, 2014. Please sign up via the form to let us know you will be coming with us.
The ACM email service has been restored and mailing lists are currently working. The network changes should now be over, please report and found outages to sigsysadmin AT acm.cs.uic.edu
Most serices appear to have been restored since the network changes. The current main exception is that the ACM hosted mailing lists, acm-announce etc, are currently not working and user will be unable to send email using their account. The problem should be fixed soon and there will be another update when the mailing lists and email is fixed.
Changes that are currently being made to the University end of our network. Until the needed changes on both ends are made there will be some service disruption. There will be a follow up port when things are supposed to all be done, so any issue reporting should be held off until then.
You've made it to the second week of semester two!
This is just a quick reminder that the ACM will have it's first General Meeting of the semester this Thursday! Come and learn about what we're all about, how to become a member, and the variety of activities that we do throughout the year!
